How to apply to Study in UAE: the process and requirements

UAE is home to more than 60 globally ranked foreign and national higher educational institutions and hub of higher education by attracting a larger number of international students from different countries. Apart from national universities, globally ranked higher educational institution of different countries like Australia, France, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States are available. Now higher education in the UAE is growing to the position of best popular destination due to enrolment increasing, being affordable option, liberal student visa regime, thriving employability market and availability of globally ranked foreign universities.

The admission process to the universities in the UAE is very easy and accessible. Admission requirements and application deadline depend upon the university which you are choosing. Firstly, International students need to confirm the course and university according to his/her requirement and aptitude. It’s better to take consultation and guidance from admission experts to choose the best university for selected course/ program by verifying its accreditation, ranking and quality.
If a student meets the required eligibility criteria, there are high chances of acceptance at the university in the UAE. Once a student has selected the program and university, then he/she can start application by submitting application form and required documents. Generally, the following documents are required to be submitted for application to the universities in the UAE.

  • Filled application form
  • Transcripts of previous education (like Higher secondary school, bachelor’s degree transcripts)
  • Passport
  • Passport Size photo
  • Proof of English proficiency (This is not mandatory. Depending upon study program and university; there might be a requirement for English test like IELTS/ TOEFL or Arabic test like Emsat Arabic.

Students are required to submit specific documents during the process according to the requirements of the university and program. EMSAT is asked for very few universities only for selected programs. Submission methods are different in the universities, so it’s better to take guidance of any admission expert or educational consultancy for successful admission process. Generally, the minimum admission requirements are CGPA 3, and bachelor’s degree in a required discipline with an aggregate of 55% or more for post-Graduation program.

After submitting all the necessary documents and admission requirements it will take some time for admission result. If any clarification or extra document is required, the university will ask you for it. Once your application is accepted, the institution will send you a formal offer letter that confirms your course details, the starting dates, tuition fees payment method and further process. An official acceptance letter will be sent to you once you’ve been accepted the offer letter and sent into the university.

Once your application is accepted by the university and you have done with initial payment of tuition fees, you can apply for student visa.
